Green Tea

Green tea has been shown to help prevent diseases like cancer, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, infections, impaired immune functions, and cardiovascular diseases. Green tea has also shown to imporve the cholesterol rate within the body.   The high antioxidant content of green tea will cleanse the body of toxins that usually cause a lot of health problems, thus improving your future health.

Green tea is able to provide people with these benefits because it contains certain vitamins in which it is particularly rich in EGCG or epigallocatechil gallate. This is a powerful anti-oxidant that inhibits cancer cell growth and kills present cancer cells without harming the rest of the healthy tissues in the body. It also helps prevent blood clots by lowering cholesterol levels by balancing them out. If these are not the only reason to drink green tea, then I don’t know what is! . This problem of blood clotting, also known as thrombosis, usually leads to severe heart attacks and stroke. Green tea can also reduce the risk of Diabetes.  Within green tea catechins in the leaves help reduce the blood glucose and balance the insulin levels in the body. Though you should be eating a clean nutrient dense diet, so diabetes should not even be a problem…but if you do indulge in processed foods its even more important to consume Green Tea.


The production of green tea is essential and without research you really won’t know how it was processed.   Teas differ in their processes of manufacture. Green tea leaves are steamed, which prevents the epigallocatechil gallate from becoming oxidized. Other teas such as black tea are fermented and are converted to compounds.  By doing this the chemical properties of epigallocatechil gallate become ineffective when fighting against cancer and other diseases.

Every where you look green tea is.  In face creams/cleansors to gum.  There is recent research that green tea is an effective fat burning ingredient! Also, green tea helps prevent bad breath and cavities by destroying bacteria. Consuming 2-3 cups of home made green tea (tea bags) is a great way to reduce the risk of cancer and cleanse your body of harmful toxins that can hamper your life or sports performance.
